These are the clips that attach the door rod to your outside door handles . These clips are known to fail and when that happens the door rod detaches and gets bent and breaks when the window is rolled down. If the door rod breaks you will need to buy a new door lock actuator assembly which can costs hundreds of dollars. Replacing the old brittle plastic clips with new ones can prevent getting locked out and damage.
